Five of the Best Holiday Activities in Cleveland

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, especially in Ohio.  The city and surrounding areas are filled with holiday activities for all ages to participate in!

Visit the “Christmas Story” House

Put on your pink bunny suit and head over to the “Christmas Story” house for a tour of where the movie was filmed! Now restored to its movie splendor, Ralphie’s house is open year round to the public for tours and overnight stays. The museum features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos.  Tours run every hour starting at 10:15 am. The last guided tour is an hour before closing.

Experience Winterfest in Public Square

Don’t miss out on one of Cleveland’s best Christmas traditions! WinterFest is the annual holiday celebration in Cleveland's Public Square.  Head down for live music, dancing, and all the hot chocolate you can drink. More than 50,000 people attend the event each year. The lights will be up until after New Years and the event is free!

Partake in Cleveland’s SantaPalooza

This year is your chance to dress up in your best Christmas gear and have a great night with friends! All this bar crawl requires is rocking a Santa, elf or reindeer costume or an ugly sweater.  Just pop on your favorite knit and hit West 6th and the surrounding Warehouse District for all the fun.

Run the Miracle On Erie Street 5k

The Miracle On Erie Street 5K is just one of the events included in the three-day Miracle On Erie Street festival, and participants get in the holiday mood with holiday-themed running costumes. Proceeds from the run go towards community grants for Willoughby and Lake County nonprofits organizations.

Go Ice Skating at Wade Oval

The rink at Wade Oval is all-purpose and the perfect outdoor activity that takes just a modicum of actual athleticism and coordination. Two bucks to skate, $3 for skate rentals, and the rink is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Feb. 18 with additional days between Christmas and New Year's.

There is something for everyone to do this holiday season in Ohio.  Whether you want to get your heart pumping and run a holiday 5K or enjoy the Christmas lights in Public Square there are so many ways to spread Christmas cheer and have fun this winter!
